Football

Last week: The RedHawks dropped their first conference game of the season to Bowling Green, 37-12, Saturday afternoon at Doyt Perry Stadium (RECAP). Miami dropped to 3-4 overall and 2-1 in the MAC. This week: The 'Hawks have a bye-week before hosting Ohio University Saturday, Oct. 27 at 3:30 p.m. Ticket packages are still available. For more information click HERE.

 

Ice Hockey

Last week: Miami opened regular-season play with two victories at home against Colgate. The RedHawks downed the Raiders, 3-0, Friday at Steve Cady Arena (RECAP). It was the first time in program history that Miami opened the season with a shutout. Freshman goalie Ryan McKay had 24 saves. On Saturday, the 'Hawks beat Colgate, 5-1, thanks to a trio of assists by Cody Murphy (RECAP). This week: The RedHawks look to remain unbeaten, as they host a pair of games against Providence on Friday, Oct. 19 and Saturday, Oct. 20 at 7:35 p.m. and 7:05 p.m., respectively. Soccer

Last week: The Miami soccer team extended its winning streak to nine games with two road wins against Northern Illinois and Toledo over the weekend. The RedHawks, who improved to 14-2 overall and 8-0 in the MAC, defeated Northern Illinois, 3-2, Friday (RECAP) and downed Toledo, 1-0, Sunday (RECAP). This week: MU travels to play Central Michigan Friday, Oct. 19 at 4:30 p.m. before returning home for a match against Bowling Green at 1 p.m.

 

Field Hockey

Last week: The RedHawks crushed Appalachian State, 9-1, at home Friday (RECAP). Miami's Alyssa Logan led the way with a hat trick, as MU improved to 8-8 overall and 2-1 in the MAC. This week: The 'Hawks travel to play road contests against Ball State Saturday, Oct. 20 at noon and Michigan Sunday, Oct. 21 at 1 p.m.

 

Volleyball

Last week: Miami split a pair of road matches against Central Michigan and Eastern Michigan on Thursday and Saturday, respectively. The RedHawks lost to the Chippewas, 1-3, (RECAP) and swept the Eagles, 3-0 (RECAP). This week: MU hosts Toledo Friday, Oct. 19 at 6 p.m. and also plays Ball State at home Saturday, Oct. 20 at 5 p.m.

 

Men's & Women's Cross Country

Last week: In its final tune-up for the Mid-American Conference Championships, the Miami University women's cross country team ran to a 22nd-place finish Saturday morning against a talented field at Pre-Nationals, hosted by the University of Louisville at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer Park (RECAP). The men's cross country team ran to a 32nd-place at the same meet (RECAP). Coming up: Both the men's and women's teams have a week off before traveling to compete in the MAC Championship Saturday, Oct, 27 in Buffalo, N.Y. The meet begins at 11 a.m.

 

Men's & Women's Swimming & Diving

This week: The men's and women's teams both open their respective regular seasons. The women's squad travels to Purdue Friday, Oct 19 for a 6 p.m. meet before returning home to host Xavier for a co-ed meet Saturday, Oct. 20 at 2 p.m. The men's team opens it's season at home against Xavier on Saturday, also at 2 p.m.

 

Golf

Last week: The RedHawks finished 12th out of 17 teams at the Firestone Invitational on Monday and Tuesday (RECAP). Mark McDonald led the way with an even round score of 72. This week: Miami has the week off before competing in the Georgetown Intercollegiate Monday, Oct. 22 through Tuesday, Oct. 23.

 

Tennis

Last week: Sophomore Christine Guerrazzi defeated Aina Hernandez-Sober of Marquette 6-3, 6-1 on Sunday to capture third place in Draw D of the 2012 Auto-Owners Insurance Spartan Invitational. Four other RedHawks posted wins on the consolation sides of the various brackets (RECAP). This week: The RedHawks travel to play in the ITA Ohio Valley Regional tournament Thursday, Oct. 18 through Sunday, Oct. 21.

 

Men's Basketball

Coming up: First-year head coach John Cooper and the Miami University men's basketball team will give fans their first opportunity to get a sneak peak of the 2012-13 squad at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17 with the Third Annual BBQ & Basketball event at Millett Hall (MORE DETAILS).
