Last Week: The RedHawk women's soccer team (2-0) got the 2012-13 athletics season off to a great start with a pair of shutouts last weekend. Miami opened the season with a 3-0 win over Xavier in Oxford on Friday Evening. Kelsey Dinges scored a pair of goals against the Musketeers. (RECAP) Senior Jess Kodiak and junior Katy Dolesh led a three-goal assault in the first 15 minutes of the second half to blow open a tight game and lead the RedHawks to a convincing 5-0 win at IUPUI Sunday afternoon. (RECAP) Miami was predicted to finish second in the MAC East Division, just behind Kent State, in the MAC Preseason Coaches' Poll. (RELEASE) THIS WEEK: Miami hosts Northwestern at 5 p.m. Friday before traveling to play at Milwaukee at 1 p.m. Sunday.
LAST WEEK: Miami traveled to Indiana Sunday for its lone exhibition game of the season. Playing a unique format that featured two 30-minute periods followed by a 20-minute period, the RedHawks fell to Indiana by a total score of 4-2. (RECAP) THIS WEEK: The RedHawks open their season against Northwestern at noon Saturday in a tournament in Louisville, Ky., before taking on either Louisville or Northeastern on Sunday.
THIS WEEK: Miami opens the season at the Thunder Invitational in Huntington, W. Va. this weekend. Miami faces IUPUI at 4:30 p.m. on Friday and faces Wright State and Marshall on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., respectively.
LAST WEEK: Miami continued its preparations for the season opener at Ohio State in two weeks with a lengthy scrimmage Saturday morning at Yager Stadium. The RedHawks ran more than 150 offensive plays during the two-hour plus session. (RECAP) THIS WEEK: The RedHawks are idle until Sept. 1 at Ohio State. Although the 2012-13 Miami hockey season is still over a month away, there will be plenty of talent on display at the Goggin Ice Center this week as 20 former RedHawks return to Steve Cady Arena to prepare for their upcoming professional season during Miami's second annual Pro Camp Aug. 20-24. (RELEASE)
Are you All In? Last week kicked off All-In Fridays. Each week students, staff, faculty, alumni, fans, departments, groups, teams, organizations, businesses, and members of the community are asked to wear red and submit pictures in their Miami apparel on Fridays by tweeting @MiamiRedHawks with the hashtag #AllInFridays, or posting pictures on Swoop's Facebook page. The best photo will win a prize the following Friday delivered by Swoop. To further promote the initiative, members of the Miami Athletics staff will be going around campus and Oxford on Fridays from 12-1 p.m. to take pictures of people wearing red with the All-In sign.
This year, the Miami IMG Sports Network continues to expand its platform with Miami All-Access powered by the Miami University Bookstore.
