The athletic seasons continue to wind down, but they are not over yet as a few individuals have earned berths to the NCAA Championships.
Last Week: Miami earned the No. 3 seed in the MAC Tournament, and the RedHawks advanced to the title game following a 3-1 win over Toledo on Wednesday, Kyle Weldon and Mac Thoreson, who earned First-Team All-MAC honors. (RELEASE)
WOMEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Last Week: Five RedHawks—freshman Rachel Patterson, junior Katie Lenahan and junior Samantha Gable—competed in the NCAA East Preliminary Rounds in Bloomington, Ind., over the weekend. The top 12 finishers in each event at the East and West Preliminary Rounds move on to the NCAA Championships. (THURSDAY RECAP) On Friday, Paterra finished seventh in the javelin to earn a berth to the NCAA Championships. (FRIDAY RECAP) On Saturday, Patterson finished fourth in her heat of the 5000m run which automatically qualified her to advance to the NCAA Championships. (SATURDAY RECAP) Upcoming: Paterra and Patterson will compete at the NCAA Championships hosted by Drake University June 8-11 in Des Moines, Iowa.
