The athletic seasons come to an end this week with two track and field athletes competing at the NCAA Championships. Although last week was a quiet week with no events, several RedHawks earned conference and regional awards.

Freshman Rachel Patterson will compete at the NCAA Championships this week, marking the first time since 2008 the RedHawk women’s track and field team will be represented at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Paterra competes in the javelin at 3:05 p.m. on Thursday, while Patterson competes in the 5000m at 8:10 p.m. Friday. The national championship meet takes place at Drake University.

Sophomore David Eichenberger was named to the 2011 Capital One Men’s Track & Field/Cross Country Academic All-District IV First Team. (RELEASE)

Senior Nathan Sutherland was named to the PING All-Midwest Region Team by the Golf Coaches Association of America. (RELEASE)

Junior Stephanie Danesis was one of eight women’s tennis players in the conference to earn Academic All-MAC honors. (RELEASE)

This week, Miami University football is heading to three locations in the state of Ohio and there is still time to register to be part of the events this week and next week. (RELEASE) RedHawk Head Coach Don Treadwell ('82) and members of his staff will make stops in Columbus on Tuesday, June 7 at Confluence Park River Club, in Cleveland on Wednesday, June 8 at Windows on the River and in Toledo at Maumee River Yacht Club on Thursday, June 9. All three events begin at 6 p.m.
