OXFORD, Ohio—Miami University Cheerleading will be holding a fall tryout and is seeking enthusiastic individuals with a passion for inspiring others with their RedHawk spirit at athletic events for the 2013-14 seasons. Fall tryouts will be held on Wednesday, September 4 in the Millett Hall Sub-Gymnasium from 7-9 p.m.
Those wishing to tryout need to complete waiver and health history forms, bring a copy of a physical form that has been completed within the last six months. Females are asked to wear a black sports bra, black spandex, crew socks, cheer shoes, and gameday hair and makeup. Males are asked to wear Miami apparel and tennis shoes. There also is a $20 fee in order to tryout.
Females will be judged based on motions, stunting and tumbling abilities, as well as on
personality and attitude. No tumbling or stunting experience is required of males, but athleticism and a good attitude are key characteristics. Individuals also should have great physical endurance and be positive and teachable.
The Miami University Cheerleading Program is a combined group of talented co-ed and all-girl members, who are driven, hardworking, and spirited, always representing the Miami motto "Love and Honor."
