OXFORD, Ohio – The Miami University women’s basketball team held its opening practice of the 2013-14 season on Monday. It was the debut of new head coach Cleve Wright and his coaching staff.
There was a lot of emphasis on fundamentals and conditioning during the two-hour workout. Each player participated in several individual and team drills designed to work on specific aspects of defense and ball pressure. A photo gallery of Monday’s practice is here.
The RedHawks return nine letterwinners and three starters from a team that was 19-13 last season and advanced to the WNIT for the second straight year. Miami takes on Seton Hill in an exhibition game on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 2 p.m. The regular season begins Friday, Nov. 8 when the RedHawks host Eastern Kentucky at Millett Hall.
