OXFORD, Ohio - Fans want to be sure to come to Millett Hall this season for another exciting season of Miami women's basketball! The RedHawks have been selected as the favorite to win the Mid-American Conference East Division, while seniors Courtney Osborn and Kirsten Olowinski have each been selected to the Preseason All-MAC East Division Team. In addition to seeing high-level, Division I basketball, there are several theme games and promotions scheduled.
The popular Dollar Days promotion returns for the 2012-13 season. Fans can purchase tickets for these games for only $1! In addition select concession items will be only $1. This year, the Dollar Day games are Thursday, Nov. 15 vs. Robert Morris, Thursday, Jan. 17 vs. Ohio, Wednesday, Feb. 6 vs. Toledo and Thursday, Feb. 28 vs. Kent State.
Several fun themes are also planned. The home opener against Northern Kentucky on Monday is a white out. The first 100 students will receive a free t-shirt. On Thursday, Nov. 15 and Thursday, Feb. 28, in addition to being Dollar Day games, they are also Fan Appreciation nights, where the chance to meet the team and get autographs afterwards will be available. Sunday, Nov. 25 vs. Youngstown State is Senior Day, where the RedHawks will welcome guests from the Knolls of Oxford and the Oxford Senior Center. Sunday, Jan. 20 vs. Eastern Michigan will be KidsFest 2013 and High School Day, featuring carnival activities on the concourse. Finally, Saturday, Feb. 23 vs. Bowling Green will be the Awareness game where Miami will raise awareness for cancer research.
