Halftime of the Miami versus Kent State men's basketball game was the culmination of the 4th annual BasketBrawl philanthropy event, hosted by Kappa Alpha Theta and Chi Psi. Fans watched as 2013 BasketBrawl champions, Sigma Phi Epsilon (Sig Ep), played against an All-Star team comprised of members of various Miami sororities.

Over the past four years, BasketBrawl has been a great opportunity for the men's basketball team to partner with Miami's Greek community for a great cause. This year's event festivities kicked off with a Meet N' Greet at Buffalo Wild Wings on Thursday, February 21st. The men's basketball team mingled with members of Chi Psi and Theta throughout the evening.

On Sunday, February 24th, the BasketBrawl tournament began. Several Greek chapters created basketball teams to play in a single-elimination bracket. All team entry fee proceeds went to Chi Psi and Theta's respective philanthropies.  After an exciting day of basketball, Sig Ep emerged as this year's victors. Throughout the day, members of the men's basketball team stopped by Withrow Court to take in some of the action. The championship game featured Miami basketball's own Jon Harris, Vince Legarza, and Reggie Johnson as officials for the contest.

"BasketBrawl is one of the most exciting philanthropy events of the year. We are pleased to have the opportunity to get involved with the Greek community," stated Ellie Zabielski, Assistant Director of Promotions, who coordinates student partnerships. We'd like to give a special thanks to Kappa Alpha Theta and Chi Psi for another successful year.
