Columbus bound: Football team settles in at Ohio Stadium
The Miami University football team's trip from Oxford to Columbus Friday afternoon was very business-like.
Players, coaches, cheerleaders and team personnel filed into three buses that took them directly from Yager Stadium to Ohio Stadium. The players dropped off their gear in the visitor's locker room and then proceeded to participate in a walk-through on the field. Video of Ohio State's spring game was playing on the stadium's big screen while the players received direction from their coaches. There was also a countdown to Saturday's kickoff.
All in all, the trip was, thankfully, uneventful. The busses were on time and there were no mishaps leading up to the team dinner at the hotel, which is about 15 minutes from the stadium.
The last time Miami played Ohio State was a 34-14 loss in Columbus in 2005. The teams have played each other a total of five times over the years. A college team from Ohio hasn't beaten the Buckeyes since Oberlin College did it in 1921.
Road Trip Fun Facts
Miami senior quarterback Zac Dysert's long locks were a little bit shorter today, as he cut off about five inches. If you are a fan on his hair, don't worry, there's still a lot left up there.
The team watched Act of Valor before calling it a night. The movie, if you haven't seen it, is about a group of Navy Seals who try to recover a kidnapped CIA agent. It stars Alex Veadov, Roselyn Sanchez and Nestor Errano.
The players wake up at 7:20 a.m. for breakfast with meetings to follow. Then at about 9:30 a.m., they take off for Ohio Stadium where the team begins their game-day preparations for the noon kickoff against the Buckeyes. The game is being broadcasted on the BigTen Network.
