Admit it, you grew up a Buckeyes fan
There are 48 Ohio natives on the Miami University football team. I couldn't get one of them to come clean and admit that they were a fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes.
That's not surprising, considering the RedHawks open the 2012 season in Columbus next Saturday. You never want to show your true colors (scarlet and grey) before a big game.
"I feel like once you're playing college football, you're not really a fan of any other teams," said senior wide receiver Andy Cruse, who cleverly sidestepped the question.
Mitch Krotz was also unenthusiastic saying, "Growing up in Ohio, you try to route for your home-town team no matter who that is, whatever region you are, it just comes with the territory."
However, there were a few players who did say they had family members and friends that were excited to make the trip up to Ohio Stadium. There were a lot more ticket requests then usual, that's for sure, and with it being Urban Meyer's coaching debut, it's a hot ticket to be had.
"My family is of seven. I have three brothers and a sister and my parents are going up, so they bought some tickets already," sophomore quarterback Drew Kummer said. "I think it will be a great experience for me and them."
