The Miami University baseball team will travel to Columbus, Ohio for a Tuesday evening contest with the Ohio State Buckeyes in the RedHawks’ final non-conference game of the season. Opening pitch is slated for 6:35 p.m. inside Nick Swisher Field at Bill Davis Stadium.

Taking the mound for the Red & White will be Charlie Suich. Suich, who has a 1-2 record and 6.43 earned run average, is from Powell, Ohio, located 25 miles north of Columbus. Ohio State has yet to name a starter for Tuesday night.

After splitting a pair this past weekend versus Iowa, the Buckeyes are now 26-21 on the year and 14-8 inside its home facility. Offensively, they are led by Ronnie Dawson (.350), Nick Sergakis (.343) and Josh Dezse (.264). Dezse leads the Buckeyes with five homeruns.

The RedHawks are coming off a solid weekend, capturing two-of-three versus fellow Mid-American Conference foe, Bowling Green. Miami has won three consecutive series’ versus MAC opponents (swept Eastern Michigan and won two-of-three versus Toledo and BGSU), and if the conference tournament began today the Red & White would be the No. 5 seed (eight teams advance).

Offensively, Miami is led by Dan Walsh (.335) and Max Andresen (.319), while Gary Russo is tops on the team in homeruns (6) and RBI (30).

Following the trip to central Ohio, Miami will hit the road for a MAC series versus Buffalo from May 9-11. Buffalo is currently 12-9 in the MAC and would be the No. 4 seed in the conference tournament if it began today.
