OXFORD, Ohio -- Miami looks to get back to the .500 mark on the season when it faces local rival Dayton in a home-and-home series Tuesday and Wednesday.

The teams will meet at Time Warner Cable Stadium in Dayton on Tuesday before returning to McKie Field in Oxford the following day. Start times are slated for 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., respectively.

The RedHawks (18-19) won four of five games over the last seven days, including a series win over Ball State over the weekend. Miami took games Friday and Sunday from the Cardinals after sweeping Eastern Kentucky in a midweek series.

Dayton (8-27-1) snapped a 12-game losing skid on Sunday with a 4-1 home win over Virginia Commonwealth. A year ago, the Flyers won the Atlantic 10 and advanced to the NCAA Regionals, but lost some key components to graduation.

Sophomore Matt Honchel sits atop the Miami batting stats with a .335 average. He has hit safely in six straight and 21 of the last 22 games and is the team leader with 15 multiple hit games.

Freshman Jake Romano, who has returned to right field after an extended injury, stands second at .327, while John Crummy is the only other RedHawk above .300 at .323.

Alex Johnson, who is 10-for-18 with seven extra-base hits over the last five games, leads the club in home runs (three) and runs batted in (29).

Sophomore left-hander Brian Thene takes to the mound in his usual Tuesday spot. He is 2-2 with a 3.66 ERA in seven appearances. His five starts have all come during mid-week action, including the last four Tuesdays.

Miami has yet to announce a Wednesday starter, mostly likely splitting the innings over several players.
