OXFORD, Ohio -- Miami Baseball's fall practice schedule concludes this weekend with the Red and White Intrasquad Series, an annual event featuring regular-season conditions. Games are slated to be played at 4 p.m. Thursday, 3 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday at McKie Field.

After enduring a month of practice as one team, the RedHawks were split into Red and White squads on Tuesday, allowing each unit to practice separately. The Red team features returning starters Scott Slappey, Dan Walsh, Nate Bowles and Mac Thoreson, while the White team is highligted by John Crummy, Kevin Bower, Matt Honchel and Brooks Fiala.

"The Red and White series has become an annual tradition and is used to evaluate players," Head Coach Dan Simonds said. "Right now, some guys are still trying to make the team. It's very, very competitive for that reason, plus both sides want to win.

"It been a quality fall as we have played some very good baseball and I expect that we finish strong and take that into the spring."

Assistant Coach Jeremy Ison will lead the Red team, while volunteer assistant coach John Lackoff heads the White squad. They are former Miami teammates (1998-2000), so bragging rights are also on the line.

There is no admission charge for all Miami Baseball games.
