Miami and Xavier will try for an Oxford meeting for the third time this year with a Tuesday matinee at McKie Field. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.

The contest -- the fourth between the teams this year -- was originally slated for March 30, but was postponed by cold and wet weather. The April 20 makeup was delayed by wet grounds.

Xavier (27-24) has won two of the three meetings this year, beginning in Florida on March 10, 4-1. The Musketeers earned a 3-2 win at Prasco Park in Mason on March 15.

Miami gained a bit of revenge by taking a 10-2 decision in the third-place game of the Joe Nuxhall Classic on April 13.

The RedHawks have won 15 of their last 19 games to stand 31-21 on the season. The win total marks the sixth time in seven years that Miami has earned 30 or more wins in a season.

Jon Edgington has been on fire lately, batting .581 (18 of 31) over the last eight games. He has taken over the team lead with a .324 average.

Kyle Weldon is fourth (.304), while leading the club with eight home runs.

As a team, Miami is hitting .277 with 28 home runs.

On the mound, the RedHawks have a 3.24 team ERA. The three weekend starters have combined for 17 of Miami's wins and a 2.79 ERA.

Miami will send redshirt junior Ryan Meyers to the mound against the Musketeers. He is 2-0 with a 2.35 ERA in six appearaces (two starts). In his last outing -- a no-decision against Cincinnati last Wednesday -- he allowed three earned runs in 5.2 innings pitched.

His best outing came April 6, when he surrendered only an unearned run in five innings versus Ohio State.

Xavier won two of three against George Washington over the weekend. Last Tuesday, the Musketeers dropped both games of a seven-inning doubleheader against Kent State, 3-0 and 3-2.
