OXFORD, Ohio -- Miami wraps up its 2012 home schedule Wednesday night with a non-conference matchup against local rival Cincinnati. The game has been designated as Talawanda-Miami Day to celebrate a partnership between Miami Athletics and local schools. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.

The RedHawks (25-23) have won four straight games -- one shy of their season high -- after a three-game sweep of Akron over the weekend. Miami finished the Buffalo series seven days prior with a win in the Sunday finale.

Cincinnati (14-35) has struggled all year long with a youth-filled roster. The Bearcats snapped a 10-game losing streak in the nightcap of a Saturday doubleheader at Connecticut. Since starting the season 8-6, UC is just 6-29 over the last 35 games.

Freshman Matt Honchel is on another hot streak this week, hitting safely in five straight games. He leads the team with a .387 average and has driving in 19 runs, while scoring 36. The outfielder/designated hitter has a team-best 25 multiple-high games and Honchel has posted three hitting streaks of eight games or more in 2012.

Junior Kevin Bower is batting .341 average and leads the team with 43 runs batted in, while John Crummy is next at .329. Bryce Redeker has a team-best four homers and 37 RBIs.

As a team, Miami is hitting .296 with five players holding an average above .300.

Junior Brooks Fiala (2-6, 6.93) is scheduled to make his 12th start of the season on Wednesday. He last pitched on April 28 at Buffalo, when he went 5.0 innings in the RedHawks' 9-3 loss to the Bulls.

Cincinnati will counter with senior left-hander Brad Mergen. He stands 0-5 with a 9.20 ERA in 11 appearances this year.

Wednesday's contest will mark the final home game for seven Miami seniors, although the group was officially honored before Sunday's contest. The seven seniors are Ryan Brenner, Ryan Curl, Pat Glass, Shawn Marquardt, Joe Neff, Matt Rosinski and Redeker.
