CLEVELAND –Mid-American Conference announced its weekly volleyball awards on Monday. Redshirt sophomore Jenny Ingle was named the MAC East Division Offensive Player of the Week. It is her first weekly MAC award of the season and second of her career.
Ingle was the star for the RedHawks last weekend as she led the team to a championship in its own Miami Invitational. She was named the MVP after recording 36 kills in two matches with a hitting percentage of .508. In a three-set win vs. Evansville on Friday, she had 15 kills and made only one error in 21 attempts for a hitting percentage of .667. She also contributed three blocks (one solo and two assisted). Ingle was even better in a come-from-behind win vs. Northern Kentucky on Saturday. She had a new career high with 21 kills, and made it a double-double with 10 blocks (two solo and eight assisted). For the weekend she averaged 4.50 kills per set and 1.62 blocks per set, finishing with 44 points scored.
Ingle was previously named MAC East Division Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 22, 2012.
The RedHawks return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Xavier for a non-conference match that begins at 7 p.m.
