OXFORD, Ohio - A pair of freshmen shined for Miami over the weekend, as the Miami Athletes of the Week connected by Frontier Communications for the week of Oct. 15-21 are freshman swimmer Evan Bader on the men's side and redshirt freshman middle hitter Jenny Ingle for the women.

Bader (Oxford, Ohio) earned two first-place finishes in the 100 and 200 breaststroke to kick off his collegiate career with Miami. Swimming in his home town, Bader took control of the 100 breast, touching the wall in a time of 59.17, beating his teammate Will Olsen by .15 seconds. Bader also was victorious in the 200 breast with a time of 2:09.61, finishing a whole six seconds before Olsen. He led Miami to a 150-109 victory over Xavier in the team's season opener.

Ingle (Ludlow Falls, Ohio) was Miami's top offensive attacker with an impressive .478 hitting percentage leading the volleyball team to two wins on the weekend. She had a total of 26 kills in two matches, including a career-high tying 15 kills in only three sets in a victory against Toledo on Friday. In that match she hit .636. She added another 11 kills in a dramatic five-set win over Ball State on Saturday. Ingle made only four attack errors in 46 attempts on the weekend and when you add in her blocking, she scored 31.5 points, an average of 3.94 per set.

Ingle was a force to be reckoned with defensively this past weekend as well. She recorded a total of eight blocks, including three solo. Against Toledo, Ingle had three total blocks with one solo and two assisted. She bettered that against Ball State with five total blocks, including a career-high tying two solo.

The honor is the first of the careers for both Bader and Ingle while Ingle also garnered MAC East Division Offensive Player of the Week on Monday for her strong showing last weekend.
