Monday Football News & Notes

The RedHawks' 30-14 win over Southern Illinois Saturday wasn't the blowout most were expecting, but at the end of the day a win is a win.

Miami improved to 1-1 on the season and will travel to play Boise State Saturday at 4 p.m. No word if the 'Hawks are going to paint their practice field blue this week. That's probably not in the budget. The game will be televised on NBC Sports Network.

Later today, I'll have a blog post on what Boise State coach Chris Peterson says during his weekly Mountain West Conference call. The Broncos (0-1) are playing their first game since losing to Michigan State, 17-13, Friday, Aug. 31 in East Lansing, Mich. Boise sits just outside the AP Top 25, receiving the most votes of any non-ranked team. The RedHawks are 21-point underdogs.

Also this week, I'll have an article posted on MURedHawks.com after coach Don Treadwell's Tuesday press conference as well as several other feature articles on the football team and other Miami sports.
