CARMEL, Ind. - The Miami University men’s golf team is in seventh place after two rounds of the Mid-American Conference Championship on Friday. The RedHawks shot a round of 302 in the morning and came back to shoot a 296 in the afternoon at the Prairie View Golf course. As a team, Miami is 22-over par with a total score of 598. Kent State leads the tournament at six-under par with a total score of 570.
Junior Scott Cahill was Miami’s top individual on Friday. He shot a round of 75 in the morning and a 71 in the afternoon. That one-under par score was the best round of the day for the RedHawks. Cahill is tied for 16th at two-over par.
Sophomore Jack Sparling shot two rounds of 74 to finish the day tied for 20th at four-over par. Next in line is sophomore Daniel Schwarz who isn’t far behind. Shooting a round of 76 in the morning and a 75 in the afternoon, Schwarz is tied for 28th at seven-over par.
Senior Mark MacDonald is currently tied for 33rd after shooting a 77 in the morning and a 76 in the afternoon leaving him at nine-over par. Freshman Greg Conrad is at 12-over par after shooting a 77 in the morning and a 79 in the afternoon. Conrad is currently in 41st place.
The MAC Championship continues with the third round on Saturday.
