A native of Bangalore, India, Mohan went undefeated in all four of her matches last week, posting 2-0 records at No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles. She was a part of two critical matches for Miami in wins over Western Michigan (5-2) and Bowling Green (4-3).
Mohan teamed with Alix Thurman for an 8-6 win over the Broncos on Friday, giving the RedHawks the doubles point. In the match, The Miami duo trailed 4-3, but won back-to-back to lead 5-4. After the teams were tied 5-5 and 6-6, Miami won the next two games for a 1-0 lead.
On Saturday at Bowling Green, Mohan won the clinching singles match, giving Miami no worse than a share of the Mid-American Conference title for the fifth straight year. She trailed 6-4, 5-4, but forced a tiebreaker in the second set, winning 7-5, then took the first three games of the deciding set en route to a 6-2 final.
Mohan’s other wins came 6-4, 7-5 on Friday at Western Michigan and 8-6 in doubles on Saturday at Bowling Green.
