OXFORD, Ohio -- The 2013 Miami women's tennis home schedule starts with a flurry this weekend as the RedHawks host three matches at Hamilton's Riverside Athletic Club. Miami welcomes Eastern Kentucky Saturday at 3:30 p.m., then faces California (Pa.) and Xavier in a Sunday doubleheader. Those matches start at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., respectively.

Miami (1-2) picked up its first win of the season on last week, defeating Cincinnati 6-1 on Sunday. The RedHawks captured two of three doubles matches, then won five of six during singles play. During the match, Miami rebounded from a 1-0 doubles deficit to steal the point and set the stage for victory. Ramona Costea has a 10-4 overall mark in 2012-13, while Nimisha Mohan and Alix Thurman have each posted nine wins.

EKU has split four matches this spring, falling at Ohio State 7-0 Tuesday night in its last outing. The Colonels hold wins over Eastern Michigan and Cumberland, while falling to Xavier, 4-3.

California (Pa.) is one of the top teams in Division II, ending the fall schedule ranked eighth nationally and first in the Atlantic Region. A trio of Vulcans hold ITA national rankings as well -- Alexandra Borgenhoff (21) and Lucie Sipkova (31) and Lucie Rey (41). Sipkova and Rey team for the No. 8 doubles combo in Division II., while Jade Pondicas and Ramona Czakon are listed at No. 21. The Vulcans are opening their spring season against the RedHawks.

The Musketeers are 2-1 entering a match Saturday at Dayton. They defeated Detroit, in addition to the win over EKU, while being swept by Louisville.
