WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Miami's doubles team of Alix Thurman and Nimisha Mohan posted a pair of victories Thursday to advance to the main draw of the ITA Ohio Valley Regional. The duo joins two other RedHawk teams who were automatically entered into Friday's opening round.

Thurman and Mohan started the day with an 8-3 win over IUPUI's Abbey Neff and Vanessa Whyte, then upset the qualifiers' No. 3 seed Katie Polk and Kelsey Coots of Tennessee-Chattanooga 8-6 to earn their spot.

Miami's two singles entrants weren't as successful in qualifying. Freshman Ana Rajkovic won her opening tilt 7-6 (7-2), 5-7, 7-5 over Vanderilt's Mega Gornet, but fell short against Melissa Gerritsen of Eastern Kentucky in the deciding match, 6-2, 6-4. Ramona Costea, who entered play 7-1 in fall competition, lost in the first round 6-2, 6-1 to Kayla Jones of UTC.

Friday's action for Miami gets underway at 8 a.m. with Christiana Raymond and Christine Guerrazzi facing Butler's Stephanie McLoughlin and Brittany Farmer. Mohan and Thurman squaring off against Skylar Kuykendall and Liza Tymechenko of Memphis at 9:30, while Costea and Rajkovic team up against Middle Tennessee's Irina Constantinide and Yuiri Nomoto at 10:15.

 The main singles draw, which starts at 1 p.m. and runs into the evening, features four RedHawks -- Mohan, Raymond, Guerrazzi and Thurman.
