OXFORD, Ohio -- The Miami Women's Tennis team wraps up the fall portion of its 2012-13 schedule this weekend when it competes in the ITA Ohio Valley Regional. Action takes place Thursday to Monday at the Schwartz Tennis Center on the campus of Purdue University.
Four RedHawks earned entry in to the main draw beginning Friday afternoon. Christiana Raymond will face eighth-seeded Rebecca Shine of Louisville, while Alix Thurman plays No. 14 Daniella Vidal of Purdue. Christine Guerrazzi faces Butler's Caroline Hedrick, while Nimisha Mohan will play one of the survivor's of Thursday's qualifying.
That draw includes Ramona Costea and Ana Rajkovic, who must each win a pair of matches to make the main tournament. Costea plays at 12:15 tomorrow against Kayla Jones of UT Chattanooga, while Rajkovic played Megan Gornet of Vanderbilt at 2:45.
In doubles action, Mohan and Thurman begin qualifying action Thursday morning at 8 a.m., facing a pair of IUPUI Jaguars. A win would put them in a 10 a.m. match for a berth in the main draw. Teams of Costea and Rajkovic and Raymond and Guerrazzi were placed in the main draw and will see their first action on Friday morning.
