SUGAR GROVE, Ill. - The Miami University men's golf team is in ninth place after two rounds of the MAC Championship on Friday. The RedHawks shot rounds of 302 and 311 on the Rich Harvest Farms Golf Course to stand at 37-over par. Kent State, which is currently ranked 18th in the nation, has a 30-shot lead over all teams at 12-under par.
Junior Ben Peacock had the best overall day for Miami. He shot a 77 in the morning and followed with a two-over par 74 in the afternoon. He is at seven-over par after two rounds and tied for 19th place individually.
Brett Tomfohrde's one-over par 73 in the morning was the RedHawks' best individual round on Friday. He followed with an 82 in the afternoon and is currently tied for 27th at 11-over par.
Luke Shaughnessy is right behind Tomfohrde at 12-over par after two rounds. He is tied for 32nd place. Scott Cahill is tied for 37th at 13-over par, while Mark MacDonald is tied for 40th at 15-over par.
