Comes to Miami from the U.S. National Team Development Program, where he helped Team USA capture the gold medal at the 2012 IIHF U-18 World Championship in the Czech Republic, notching a goal and two assists in six games ... in 2011-12, played 24 games against USHL competition for the USNTDP, totaling 11 points on five goals and six assists ... in 2010-11, represented Team USA on the U-17 team that won the 2011 Vlad Dzurilla U-18 Tournament in Piestany, Slovakia, scoring a goal and adding an assist in three games ... spent the majority of 2010-11 suiting up for the Dubuque Fighting Saints of the USHL, playing in 57 regular-season games while notching 28 points on 14 goals and assists each ... helped the Fighting Saints win the Clark Cup, awarded to the USHL Playoff champion, with a pair of goals in 11 games ... was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 USHL Future's Draft ... in 2010 helped the U-17 U.S. Select Team take first place at the U-17 Five Nations Tournament in Switzerland ... attended Pioneer High School.
