Brittany Lastrapes

Returning for her third season is former All-American and Team USA member Brittany Lastrapes.

Lastrapes primarily works with the outfielders, slappers and hitters for the RedHawks. In 2014, she helped coach sophomore Taylor Shuey to a team leading .323 batting average and a spot on the All-MAC Second Team.

This is the first career collegiate coaching position for Lastrapes. She came to Miami with a strong playing resume, having earned All-America honors as a left fielder all four seasons (including first-team honors in 2009, 2010 and 2011) at Arizona under head coach Mike Candrea. Lastrapes was a member of the United States National Team from 2007-10 and was one of 10 finalists for the Lowe's Senior Class Award in 2011.

Lastrapes earned a bachelor's degree in political science in 2011, while minoring in sociology. She is currently working towards her master’s degree in sports administration at Miami.
