BEALLSVILLE, Md. -The Miami University men’s golf team tied for fourth place along with University of Toledo in the Georgetown Intercollegiate Tournament this week. The RedHawks ended the tournament with a final round of 28-over par and a final score of 880. UAB won the tournament after shooting five-under par with a final score of 847. Miami actually outshot the ninth-ranked Blazers by five shots in the final round.
Sophomore Jack Sparling tied for 12th place at four-over par after shooting a final round of 68, finishing with a score of 217. Junior Scott Cahill who tied for 20th place after shooting 8-over par with a final round of 72 finished with a final score of 223. Close behind was junior Luke Shaughnessy who tied for 21st place after shooting 9-over par with a final round of 70, finishing off the tournament with a final score of 222.
Senior Austin Kelly tied for 24th place after shooting 11-over par, shooting a 72 in the final round for a final score of 224. Senior Mark MacDonald shot 15-over par with a final round of 75 and a final score of 228, tying him for 43rd place.
The Miami University men’s golf team takes a break for the rest of the fall, picking back up in February for the Mid-American Match Play Tournament.
