TAMPA, Fla. -- For the second straight day, Miami Tennis found a formidable opponent in Florida and for the second straight day, the RedHawks came up on the short end of a 5-2 decision. On Thursday, South Florida came out on top by winning the doubles point and four matches in singles play.

Miami's winners against the Bulls including Nimisha Mohan, who saw her opponent retire, and Ramona Costea. Mohan led 5-7, 7-6 (7-5), 2-1 at No. 3 when the South Florida player could not continue. Costea defeated her opponent by a 6-2, 6-3 score.

After playing nine straight matches on the road, Miami returns to Oxford next Saturday for its conference opener. The four-time defending MAC Champion RedHawks meet Ball State at 1 p.m. on the Hepburn Courts.
