CLEVELAND, Ohio -- For the second time this season and for the third time in the last two years, Miami University's BEKKA WESTRICK has been named as the Mid-American Conference's Swimmer of the Week.
The senior from Fairfield, Ohio continues to have one of the greatest individual seasons in RedHawk history, winning three individual events and swimming the third leg for Miami's victorious 200 medley relay team in Saturday's 176.5-123.5 triumph at Ohio.
Individually, Westrick edged out her opponent by three-100ths of a second in the 50-yard freestyle (23.29), followed that up with a victory in the 100 free (51.41), then recorded a win in the 100 butterfly (55.07).
Miami ended the dual meet season with a perfect 6-0 record in MAC match-ups and had an 11-1 record overall.
The RedHawks, ranked 34th nationally, compete next at the MAC Championships in Buffalo, N.Y., Feb. 28-Mar. 2.
