ATHENS, Ohio --Three Miami University swimmers and three divers vie for individual glory tonight at the Mid-American Conference Championships at Ohio University. Action begins at 7 p.m.

Senior Megan Brunn (Mansfield) had the third-fastest preliminary time (2:01.63) in the 200 individual medley and will battle for her first MAC individual title tonight.

A pair of RedHawk sophomores, Bekka Westrick (Fairfield)and Maddie Kete (Bay Village), will be among the eight finalists in the 50-yard freestyle. Westrick had the morning's fourth-best time (23.05) in the prelims, while Kete was right behind her at 23.17.

Sarah Bullock (Louisville, KY), Chelsey Bruington (Mission Viejo, CA) and Lauren Wallace (Columbus) had the 13th-, 14th- and 17th-best times, respectively, in the 500 freestyle Thursday morning, but none of them will swim in the finals.

In the one-meter diving final, sophomore Corrine Bangs (Monument, CO), freshman Nikki Craft (Bay Village) and sophomore Lisa Werwinski (Canton) will be Miami's representatives.

The only other final Thursday night will be the 200 freestyle relay, an event in which the RedHawks have the second-best time this season among MAC squads.

Miami holds a six-point lead in the team standings over host Ohio, 72-66, heading into the second night of finals.
