Memphis, Tenn. -- Miami University tennis finished play in Day 2 of the USTA/ITA Ohio Valley Regional on Saturday. The RedHawks advanced two singles players to the second round of the tournament which continues Sunday morning.

In the opening round of the singles main draw, two RedHawks advanced to the second round. Junior Christine Guerrazzi won 6-3, 6-3 over the University of Kentucky's Kirsten Lewis and senior Christiana Raymond won 6-1, 6-3 against, Michigan State's Falvia Nagayama.

Other singles action included play from junior Alix Thurman, who fell 4-6, 4-6 to Memphis' Marta Morga. Sophomore Chloe Heerden lost 1-6, 0-6 to Vanderbilt's Ashleigh Anta, while freshman Andreea Badileanu dropped her match 4-6, 4-6 against Courtney Wild of Ball State.

Raymond and Badileanu won their first doubles matchup 8-5 over Morehead's Preston and Leblanc before falling in the next round to Mikesz and and Wind from Memphis by a score of 7-8 (0-7). Thurman and Guerrazzi lost their doubles match 7-8 (4-7) on Saturday against Ball State's Earnest and Ormond. Backdraw doubles action led to a 6-8Guerrazzi and Thurman loss.
