OXFORD, Ohio - A total of seven RedHawks were recognized by the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association (OCSA) Thursday with five members of the Miami University women's soccer team landing on the 2012 Division I All-Ohio Team while four 'Hawks garnered Division I Academic All-Ohio honors.

Senior forward Jess Kodiak, junior midfielders Katy Dolesh and Kayla Zakrzewski, sophomore midfielder Kelsey Dinges and freshman midfielder Haley Walter all landed on the OCSA All-Ohio Team while Dolesh and Zakrzewski also picked up Academic All-Ohio  accolades, as did sophomore defenders Courtney Zanotti and Emilee Kaminski. Dolesh and Zakrzewski were tabbed to the Academic All-Ohio First Team while Zanotti garnered second-team honors and Kaminski was placed on the third team.

Miami's five selections to the OCSA Division I All-Ohio Team were the most of any school on the 17-team squad and more than all other Mid-American Conference schools combined (four). Ohio State and Dayton were second, each putting three on the team. The five All-Ohio recipients also marked the most RedHawks to earn the distinction since 2002, when Miami had six players recognized. Zakrzewski has now earned All-Ohio honors all three years of her career while Dolesh and Kodiak are repeat selections from 2011, as well.

On the Academic All-Ohio side, Miami's two first-team honorees tied for third-most on the 12-woman team behind Dayton and Kent State, which each had three players named to the first team. The RedHawks' four selections overall tied for third among MAC schools behind Kent State (six) and Ohio (five). Dolesh and Zakrzewski earned First-Team Academic All-Ohio last year as well, while it is the first such honor for Zanotti and Kaminski.

Kodiak (Naperville, Ill.), who was also named First-Team All-Great Lakes Region and an NSCAA Third-Team All-American this year, led Miami to arguably its best season in program history as the RedHawks won the MAC regular-season and Tournament titles, made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament and won a school-record 20 games. She earned MAC Offensive Player of the Year, First-Team All-MAC and All-MAC Tournament Team honors at the end of the season, as well. The team captain started all 24 games and led the team with 36 points, which was second in the MAC and 21st nationally. Kodiak set the school single-season record with 12 assists, which led the MAC and was sixth nationally. She added a team-best 12 goals, which ranked second in the MAC and included three game-winners and four multi-goal matches.

Dolesh (Chardon, Ohio), who was a repeat selection to both OCSA All-Ohio teams, boasts a 3.45 grade-point average and earned Capital One Second-Team Academic All-District honors earlier this year. The health studies major was a Second-Team All-Great Lakes Region and a First-Team All-MAC selection, starting all 24 games while totaling 26 points on nine goals and eight assists, all of which ranked in the top six in the MAC. The high-flying midfielder scored her lone game-winner Oct. 14 in a 1-0 win at Toledo and also scored Miami's first goal in the win at Tennessee in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Dolesh recorded three three-point games on the year, as well. She fired a team-high 71 shots this season, including 37 on goal.

Zakrzewski (London, Ont.), who also earned both honors from the OCSA for the second straight season, carries a 3.27 GPA and was named Academic All-MAC on Monday. She garnered First-Team All-Great Lakes Region honors as she tied for second on the team and third in the MAC with 29 points. In addition, the sport studies major was tabbed First-Team All-MAC and to the All-MAC Tournament Team, helping Miami win the tournament title. The speedy midfielder started all 24 games, scoring nine goals, tying for fifth in the MAC, while adding 11 assists, which tied for second in the MAC and 13th nationally. She scored three game-winning goals, including in overtime to defeat Tennessee in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Zakrzewski notched at least a point in 15 of the 24 matches, including five-point and four-point performances in MAC play, and was a two-time MAC Offensive Player of the Week.

Dinges (Smithton, Ill.), the lone sophomore on the All-Ohio Team, received Second-Team All-Great Lakes Region honors as well this season. She was the fourth RedHawk to claim First-Team All-MAC honors, totaling 29 points, which was second on the team and third in the MAC, while starting all 24 games. She was also second on the team with her 11 goals, which ranked third in the MAC, and handed out seven assists to tie for seventh in the MAC. Three of her goals were game-winners, including in overtime at Belmont Sep. 2 and with four seconds remaining at Northern Illinois Oct. 12. She also scored the game-tying goal with nine seconds left at Tennessee in the NCAA Tournament and then assisted on the game-winner. Dinges totaled three multi-goal games on the season.

Walter (Cincinnati, Ohio), a Third-Team All-Great Lakes Region honoree, rounds out Miami's All-Ohio performers as she was the only freshman named to the All-Ohio Team. Her other accolades this year include MAC Freshman of the Year and Second-Team All-MAC, as well as All-MAC Tournament Team honors. The fast flanker tied for second on the team with 29 points while starting all 24 games. Her 10 goals were third on the team and fourth in the MAC while she also handed out nine assists, which was also fourth in the league. Walter tallied a MAC-best five game-winning goals, including in her only two-goal effort at Milwaukee Aug. 26 and the overtime regular-season win at Central Michigan Oct. 19. She also scored Miami's only goal in the NCAA Tournament second-round loss to Duke.

Zanotti (North Royalton, Ohio), who has compiled a 3.96 GPA, received Academic All-MAC plaudits on Monday, as well. The middle childhood education major recovered from offseason knee surgery to play in 20 of 24 games while starting the final 12 games of the season at center back. She played in all 11 MAC games, starting seven, while playing all but 15 minutes in three MAC Tournament matches and all but one minute in two NCAA Tournament games. She was named to the All-MAC Tournament Team, anchoring Miami's defense and leading them to the MAC title. Zanotti was in the lineup for eight of Miami's 10 shutouts on the season and earned MAC Defensive Player of the Week Oct. 22. She totaled 1,339 minutes, playing five full matches, three of which came in the postseason.

Kaminski (Saline, Mich.), who carries a 3.21 GPA while majoring in kinesiology, received Honorable Mention Academic All-MAC this year, as well. A rock on defense, she played in 19 of 24 games while starting 16 of them at outside back and battling through injury. She totaled 1,269 minutes of playing time, playing the entire time in five matches, including all 107 minutes in a double-overtime game against IPFW. Kaminski started all three MAC Tournament games, helping Miami win the title, and started both NCAA Tournament games, including an upset win over Tennessee. She helped Miami pitch nine of its 10 shutouts on the year while firing five shots, including two on goal.

The OCSA All-Ohio and Academic All-Ohio Teams are comprised of players from the 13 NCAA Division I schools located in the state of Ohio, including six MAC schools along with Cincinnati, Cleveland State, Dayton, Ohio State, Wright State, Xavier and Youngstown State. The teams are then voted on by the coaches in the state of Ohio.

The RedHawks return all but Kodiak from its All-Ohio and Academic All-Ohio honorees next season as Miami looks to build upon its MAC titles and NCAA Tournament success this past year.
