OXFORD, Ohio -- Sophomore Brian Thene allowed just one hit over four innings, striking out three, and junior Dan Walsh went 2-for-3 to lift the Red Team to a 2-1 victory Friday afternoon at McKie Field. With the win, Coach Jeremy Ison's team clinched the annual Red and White Series over Coach John Lackoff's squad.

The decisive run scored on a groundout by Kendall Johnson. Scott Slappey walked and Walsh singled before a sacrifice bunt by Matt Packer set up the play. Packer also smoked a double down the left field line during the contest.

Charlie Suich worked out of a one-out, bases-loaded jam in the sixth, getting John Crummy to hit into a double play.

White team starter Brooks Fiala allowed just one run in five innings and also escaped a bases-loaded situation, stranding all three runners in the fifth.

The final game of the fall event is Saturday at 1 p.m.
