OXFORD, Ohio -- An elite group of Miami University student-athletes will gather Friday evening (Dec. 10) at Taylor Auditorium in the Farmer School of Business to be awarded what promises to be one of their most prized possessions: a Miami varsity letter jacket.

Athletes from nine different sports--football, volleyball, soccer, field hockey, golf, women's cross country and track and men's cross country and track--will be on hand for this inaugural event.

Director of Athletics BRAD BATES and several RedHawk head coaches will preside over this first-ever ceremony at Miami. Former volleyball letter winner, Lisa Dankovich, and former football letter winner, DR. STEVE DAILEY, will offer personal reflections on the importance of the jacket before they are presented to each of 68 student-athletes.

Family members and friends of the honored student-athletes are invited to attend the ceremony, as is the general public. Friday's event begins at 6 p.m. There is no admission charge.

The Farmer School of Business is located at 800 East High Street in Oxford.
