 Men’s Basketball

Last Week: Four RedHawks scored in double figures led by junior guard Will Sullivan’s 21 points as Miami collected its first road win of the season at Tennessee State last Saturday, 79-64. (Recap) Despite a 10-0 start to open the game, Miami suffered a 69-55 loss at the University of Missouri Kansas City last Wednesday. (Recap)  This Week: The RedHawks return to Millett Hall for a 3:30 p.m. game against Southern Illinois in a return game of the 2013 ESPN BracketBuster event. The game is the second of a doubleheader with the RedHawk women’s basketball team.

 

Women’s Basketball

Last Week: Miami fell in a pair of contests in California this past week. The RedHawks dropped a tough 76-61 decision to Long Beach State Tuesday night to begin its California road trip. (Recap) Miami battled hard in holding San Diego State to only 37.2 percent (29-for-78) shooting for the game, but the Aztecs used their height advantage to gain 26 offensive rebounds and take a 75-64 victory Thursday evening. (Recap) This Week: The RedHawks end non-conference play by hosting Cleveland State on Sunday at 1 p.m. as part of a doubleheader with the men’s basketball team.

Recently, field hockey freshman Alysa Xavier was selected to the Pan-American Elite Team  (Release)

Zac Murphy, a senior punter on the Miami University football team, was named second-team All-America by SB Nation and earned All-America honorable mention by SI.com. (Release)

The Mid-American Conference announced Friday that junior outside hitter/setter Meg Riley and redshirt sophomore middle hitter Jenny Ingle were selected to the MAC All-Academic Volleyball Team. (Release)

Sophomore forward Riley Barber has been named captain of Team USA heading into the International Ice Hockey Federation’s World Junior Championship. (Release)

Women’s soccer seniors Katy Dolesh and Kayla Zakrzewski continued to collect awards. After earning all-region honors earlier this month, the duo were two of 16 players named to the All-Ohio Division I Team by the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association. (Release)
