NAPLES, Fla. – The Miami University men’s golf team is in eighth place after two rounds at the Talis Park Challenge tournament Sunday. The RedHawks are currently at 38-over par after shooting a 302 in the morning and a 312 in the afternoon round.  Vanderbilt, currently in first place, is at four-under par after shooting a 283 in the first round and a 289 in the second round.

Junior Scott Cahill and sophomore Jack Sparling had the best day among the RedHawks, both are currently tied for 23rd with a score of 151. Cahill is 7-over par after shooting a 76 in round one and a 75 in round two. Sparling was also 7-over par after shooting a 73 in the first round and a 78 in the second.

Senior Mark MacDonald was next on the leaderboard for Miami. After shooting a 76 in round one and a 78 in round two, MacDonald is currently tied for 35th at 10-over par. Freshman Jared Hammons is 15-over par after shooting a 78 in the morning and an 81 in the afternoon, tying him for 52nd. Senior Austin Kelly is currently tied for 58th at 17-over par after shooting rounds of 77 and 84.

The Talis Park Challenge tournament concludes with its final round on Monday.
