Augusta, Ga. – Miami University senior Zac Murphy has been named a candidate for the 2013 Ray Guy Award, given annually to the nation's top collegiate punter.

Murphy currently leads the nation in punting average (47.4), has 15 punts of over 50 yards, has downed 11 punts inside the opponent’s 20-yard line and has just six touchbacks this season.

Ten semifinalists for the 2013 Ray Guy Award will be announced on Nov. 8 and a national body of Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) sports information directors, coaches, media representatives and previous Ray Guy Award winners will vote for the top three finalists, who will be identified on Nov. 25. The voting body will then cast ballots to select the winner.
