OXFORD, Ohio – With Summer Orientation allowing incoming freshmen to visit Miami University’s campus through the next three weeks, MURedHawks.com continues its series to introduce the newest athletic recruits to their future classmates.

Today’s story features four incoming football players.

Jake Hilvert: Offensive Line, 6-5, 300 –Cleves, OH –Elder High School –Coach Doug Ramsey

Jake was first-team all-city and All-Greater Catholic League, being named his team’s and league’s Offensive Lineman of the Year last season. He is also a three-time letter winner for Coach Doug Ramsey’s Elder Panthers and recorded 52 “pancake” blocks during the regular season.

Coach Treadwell about Jake Hilvert: "Cincinnati football is great football and Elder is a first-rate program. As his head coach would tell you, Jake was the lead horse. You see him handing out a lot of pancakes, putting guys on their back. Jake definitely demonstrates that he's a tough young man."

Airion Kosak: Defensive Back/Wide Receiver/Kick Returner, 5-11, 185 –Vandalia, OH –Butler High School –Coach Greg Bush

Airion played both wide receiver and safety for Coach Greg Bush’s Vandalia Butler Aviators. He was first-team all-division and offensive MVP in the Greater Western Ohio Conference North. Airion compiled 1,230 all-purpose yards on 38 plays, averaging nearly 33 yards per play. He plans to study athletic training at Miami this fall. 

Coach Treadwell about Airion Kosak: "Airion can play on either side of the ball. He's just dynamic as a return guy. You'll see a whole lot of highlights when you turn on his tape. He will upgrade our special teams tremendously

Falon Lee: Running Back, 5-10, 180 –Macclenny, FL –Baker County High School –Coach Ryan Sulkowski

As a senior at Baker County High, Falon broke three school records, including most carries (224) and most rushing yards in a season (2,100). He scored 25 touchdowns in his final prep season and earned first-team all-district honors. Falon also participated in track and field, recording a high jump of 6-6. He plans to major in psychology at Miami this fall.

Coach Treadwell about Falon Lee: "As you watch the highlights of Falon, he demonstrates the ability to be a physical runner.  He also has the uniqueness of certain things you don't teach and that's called vision. You'll see him make cuts and you know that wasn't taught. He just has a knack for that. Falon has great balance and enough of a burst to run away from you."

Jared Murphy: Wide Receiver, 5-10, 170 –Columbia City, IN –Columbia City High School –Coach Randy Hudgins

As a senior, Jared earned all-state, all-area, and all-conference, being named to the Indiana Gridiron Digest Prime Time 25 and the Indiana Football Coaches Association Top 50. Last season, he recorded 94 catches for 1,363 yards and 12 touchdowns. Jared also played defensive back, quarterback, and punted. He plans to major in business at Miami this fall.

Coach Treadwell about Jared Murphy: "There are a lot of good ball players that come from the Fort Wayne area and Jared certainly is one of them. When Jared came to our camp last summer, that's when he separated himself. He's a very fluid player."
