OXFORD, Ohio - National Letter of Intent signing day is now just eight days away and the anticipation of introducing nearly 50 high school seniors is building to a crescendo. And for the first time, Miami University's fans, friends and family are invited to come and experience one of the most significant days of February's sports schedule in person.
Millett Hall's Hall of Fame area will be the site of this year's special event.
Nearly 25 talented high school football prospects will officially announce their plans to join Coach Don Treadwell's RedHawk squad and, for the fourth year in a row, Miami's fans can be part of the action by watching RedHawk Recruiting Live! Presented by Miami Savings Bank ONLINE Wednesday, Feb. 6 via Miami All-Access at www.MURedHawks.com.
As a member of the studio audience, Miami fans will not only experience the excitement first-hand, they'll have the chance to win a variety of valuable prizes. Prizes including free tickets, a signed Miami football jersey, free weekend golf at Indian Ridge, free tent space for 10 inside Tailgate Town, free parking passes, and free food certificates will be handed out to several fans, both online and in person. The webcast will run for four hours, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET and is absolutely free to watch on MURedHawks.com.
Also participating that day will be women's track and field coach Kelly Phillips, soccer coach Bobby Kramig and field hockey coach Inako Puzo.
RedHawk Recruiting Live will again be hosted by the IMG broadcast trio of Steve Baker, Tim Bray and Terry Bridge.
A multi-camera operation will not only introduce fans to the new recruits through video clips, interviews and photos, and they'll be able to get up close and personal with members of Miami's football staff.
In 2010, Miami became the first institution to initiate a live NLI Day webcast to its fans. That year's special set MURedHawks.com record for single-day page views and visitors.
February 6 will be the first day that Miami's Athletic Ticket Office will offer 2013 RedHawk football season tickets.
Next year's Mid-American Conference home-game slate will include contests versus Bowling Green, Akron, Buffalo and Central Michigan, plus a huge non-conference game against Cincinnati.
More information about the Miami season ticket plan will be forthcoming.
