OXFORD, Ohio - Head Coach Don Treadwell and his Miami University football coaching staff will participate in the "Coach to Cure MD" program this Saturday afternoon (Sept. 29) when the RedHawks play at Akron.

By wearing the "Coach to Cure MD" patch on their sleeve, Miami's football coaches will be helping to boost national awareness of the disorder as well as assisting in raising money to fund research for a cure of Duchenne (doo-SHEN) muscular dystrophy.

"Coach To Cure MD" is a partnership between the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), a professional organization for over 10,000 college football coaches and staff, and Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy (PPMD), the largest national charity devoted exclusively to Duchenne MD.

In 2008 the AFCA adopted PPMD's "Coach To Cure MD" program as one of their charity efforts.

Fans can participate in the project by going online to CoachtoCureMD.org or by texting the word "CURE" to 90999 to donate $5 on your next mobile phone bill.
