OXFORD, Ohio -- The combination of big hits and big sounds adds up to big entertainment at Miami University football's 55th High School Band Day on September 24th at Yager Stadium.

Nearly a dozen area bands have already signed up to participate with Miami's Marching Band at the game. Not only will they play together at halftime in a mass-band performance, there also will be a special "Fifth Quarter" presentation.

Dr. Stephen Lytle, Director of Athletic Bands at Miami, says he loves the pageantry of the school's annual Band Day.

"High School Band Day is a great experience for local high school bands as well as our own students," said Lytle. "We enjoy working together with the high school students and their directors and bringing the color and pageantry to Yager Stadium. This year's production will be the 1812 Overture and it is going to be terrific!"

Miami's Director of Athletic Marketing, Anthony Azama, echoes Lytle's sentiments.

“Band Day presents an unique opportunity to highlight local high school bands’ talent while simultaneously presenting our  campus as one to consider for these future potential Miami students," said Azama. "What a great event on football game day for young people and their families.”
