OXFORD, Ohio -- Twenty two football student-athletes began classes and workouts Monday at Miami University, including 17 scholarship players and five preferred walk-ons.

Although Head Coach Don Treadwell and his assistants may only have limited contact with the athletes, the freshmen are getting acclimated to campus life and classes, and being put through the paces by Strength and Conditioning Coach Paul Harker in the Gross Center weight room and with outdoor fitness training.

As part of the Summer Bridge Program, the student-athletes are enrolled in writing seminars and various other classes.
