OXFORD, Ohio - Spring football practice at Miami University concludes Friday evening at 7 p.m. with the annual Red & White Game at Yager Stadium. There is no admission charge.

Each of the four quarters will have a running clock and there will be no tabulated scoring.

Instead of splitting the team into two squads, Coach Don Treadwell and his staff have chosen to pit the entire offensive unit against the full defensive team. Twenty-nine offensive players will be dressed in white--quarterbacks in black--and 31 defensive athletes will be attired in red. There are four specialists, including punter Zac Murphy (Cincinnati) and placekicker Mason Krysinski (Shelby Township, MI).

Quarterbacks Chris Givens (Chillicothe), DeMarco Paine (St. Louis, MO), Danny Green (Oak Park, IL), Tracy Woods (Galena Park, TX), Tyrone Jones (Dayton, OH) and Nate Ley (Cincinnati).

The defensive unit has been impressive throughout the spring. Standouts have included defensive linemen Jordain Brown (Chicago, IL), Jerrell Wedge (Upper Marlboro, MD), Ryan Kennedy (Libertyville, IL), C.J. Marck (Newtown, PA), Austin Moore (Springfield) and Roman Lawson (Garfield Heights), and defensive backs D.J. Brown (West Chester), Demetrius Quarles (Woodbridge, VA), Anthony Kokal (Warren), Justin Bowers (Murfreesboro, TN), Allen Veazie (Houston, TX) and Dante Taylor (Springfield, VA).

Several players have been sidelined this spring with an assortment of injuries, including offensive linemen Brandon Brooks (Milwaukee, WI), Tyler Grubbs (Fort Thomas, KY), fullback Will Diaz (Columbus), defensive back Travis Williams (Cooper City, FL) and linebacker Luke Kelly (Cincinnati).

Parents interested in introducing their seven-to-12-year-old children to the game of football are encouraged to involve their future RedHawks in the annual Miami Football Youth Clinic, Friday, April 15th, from 5 to 6 p.m. at Yager Stadium.

The hour-long clinic will take place prior to Miami's 2011 Spring Game at Yager. Registration begins at 4:30 p.m. The clinic is FREE, with kids being split into age groups of 8 & under and 9-12.

Youngsters will have the opportunity to participate a variety of drills, including passing, catching and kicking a football. Every child that registers for the Clinic will receive a free RedHawk football T-shirt.

At 7 p.m., the annual Red & White Spring Game features returning players from the 2010 Mid-American Conference champions.

Miami University's Athletic Department will host a unique opportunity for RedHawk fans on Friday, April 15, selling new and used athletic clothing and gear at its annual Equipment Yard Sale.

The sale begins at 1 p.m. at Yager Stadium and remains open until approximately 6:45 p.m. Purchases must be paid only by cash or personal check. Payment by credit or debit cards is NOT available.

Miami equipment coordinator Darrell Hallberg will sell hundreds of different pieces, including several different items that commemorate the RedHawks' trip last January to the GoDaddy.com Bowl. Among the articles to be sold are footballs, duffle bags, shoes and clothing.

Also on sale will be a variety of authentic game-used jerseys, both recent and vintage, plus shirts, shorts, shoes and more.

Mid-American Conference championships rings were awarded Wednesday night to members of the 2010 football squad.
