College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) recently announced its Special Teams Awards Watch List, and Miami University sophomore placekicker/punter Kaleb Patterson (Duncan, S.C./Byrnes) earned a spot on the Specialist Trophy Watch List.
"Congratulations to Kaleb Patterson on earning a spot on the 2013 CFPA Watch List," said CFPA Executive Director Brad Smith. "Patterson will be one of the top special teams performers to watch in 2013."
Patterson is one of 34 players on the CFPA Specialist Trophy Watch List. Last season, Patterson led the team in scoring with 68 points. He was 15-of-18 in field-goal attempts, including 5-of-6 from 40-49 yards in his freshman season with the RedHawks.
All CFPA recipients are selected exclusively based upon objective scientific rankings of the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams. All players are eligible for awards at their respective positions; players are not preemptively eliminated from consideration. The full list of 2013 CFPA recipients will be announced on January 8, 2014.
