Mike Bath is a seasoned veteran with Miami University, having already served the RedHawks as a player, a graduate assistant coach and a full-time assistant coach.

He will coach Miami's quarterbacks in 2012 after coaching wide receivers and tight ends a year ago.

Overall, it's Bath's fifth season as an assistant coach at Miami. He was on Shane Montgomery's staff as tight ends coach from 2006-08.

Bath was Ashland University's offensive coordinator in 2009 and ‘10.

A former record-breaking quarterback and team captain for the Red and White, Bath also served as a graduate assistant in 2004 and 2005.

During his previous coaching stint with the tight ends at Miami, Bath coached current NFL players Tom Crabtree of the Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers and Jake O'Connell of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Prior to being named an assistant coach, Bath worked closely with Montgomery as Miami's offensive graduate assistant. Along with breaking down tape and working closely with the scout team defense, Bath also assisted Montgomery in working with the RedHawk quarterbacks. Miami led the MAC and ranked 15th nationally in passing offense in 2005.

In 2004, Bath handled many of the same responsibilities on the other side of the ball, breaking down tape and preparing the scout team offense for the defensive gameplan. The RedHawks ranked second in the MAC in scoring defense and among the top 30 teams nationally against the run.

As the quarterback of the RedHawks from 1998-00, Bath posted a record of 23-10 under center, including a 10-1 mark as a sophomore. He posted then-Miami career records of 6,524 yards passing and 49 TDs. Bath also saw time in the Arena Football League 2 in 2002-03 with the Charleston Swamp Foxes and the Mohegan Wolves.

A double major at Miami, Bath earned bachelor of science degrees in marketing and organizational behavior in 2001.

He resides in Oxford with his wife, Tara, and their three children, Colton (5), Savannah (2) and Case (4 mos.).
