Career: Earned three varsity letters at Miami ... compiled 136 total tackles in those three seasons, including 26.5 tackles for loss (-136 yards) and 14.5 quarterback sacks.

2012: Graduated in December 2012 with a bachelor's degree ... finished the season with 46 tackles, including 6.5 TFL and four sacks (-43 yards) ... tallied two sacks for a total loss of 21 yards against Ohio along with seven tackles ... recorded five tackles against Bowling Green ... had five tackles with a TFL against Cincinnati ... recorded four tackles against UMass ... had two stops at Boise State ... a starter in all 12 games at defensive end ... he had a huge day against Ohio State in the season opener, accounting for five tackles, including one QB sacks of Braxton Miller for minus 12 yards  ...  among Miami's defensive linemen, Semmes is one of the strongest bench-pressers at 400 pounds.

2011: Appeared in all 12 games, making nine starts on the defensive line ... had 45 tackles and led the team with 9.5 tackles for a loss and 4.5 sacks ... against Buffalo (Oct. 29), had 2.5 tackles for a loss and one sack, as well as a forced fumble ... among 120 Division I teams nationwide, he helped RedHawks rank 22nd in tackles for loss, 24th in passing defense, 36th in first down defense and 39th in scoring defense.

2010: Played in 13 of the team's 14 games and earned his first varsity letter ... finished eighth on the team in tackles with 48, second in TFLs with 10.5 for -48 yards, and first in quarterback sacks with six for -37 yards ... during Miami's six-game winning streak at the end of the season, he averaged five tackles, registered seven TFLs and six sacks ... his best games were at Buffalo (seven tackles and 1.5 QB sacks), in the bowl game (six tackles and 1.5 TFLs) and vs. Northern Illinois in the MAC title game (five tackles).

2009: The University of Iowa transfer sat out the season at Miami.

2008: Redshirt season at Iowa.

HIGH SCHOOL: First-team all-state and all-conference as a senior in 2007... All-Oakland County second-team selection ... ranked No. 18 in Detroit News Blue Chip rankings ... recorded 15 TFLs, 7.5 quarterback sacks and four fumble recoveries in his final season ... the team captain, he also played tight end ... also lettered four times in lacrosse and once in basketball ... finished No. 1 in his class, academically, as a freshman, sophomore and junior ... named 2006 American History Student of the Year ... prep football coach was George Porritt.
