2012-13Has competed in every meet this season, winning individual events in seven of them. She holds the team's fastest times in the 50 back (25.16), the 100 back (54.36), the 200 back (1:57.83), and the 200 IM (2:03.05). She won the 100 and 200 butterfly races against Xavier, then won the 100 and 200 backstroke races against Kenyon a couple weeks later. She later won the 100 and 200 back races against Buffalo, Toledo, and Ball State. She has helped her relay team win the 200 medley relay five times this season. She competed with three different relay teams at the 2012 Miami Invitational, placing first in the 200 medley relay, second in the 400 medley relay and third in the 800 freestyle relay. Individually, she finished third in the 100 back, fourth in the 200 back, and fourth in the 200 IM. In her final dual meet of her career, Thornton won the 200 IM, and took second in the 100 and 200 back events. At the 2013 MAC championships, Thornton placed second in the 200 medley relay, second in the 100 backstroke, second in the 800 freestyle relay, second in the 400 freestyle relay, third in the 200 IM, third in the 400 medley relay and seventh in the 200 backstroke. The RedHawks won the 2013 MAC team championship. Second-team All-MAC selection and first-team Academic All-MAC honoree. Graduated in May 2013.

2011-2012: Named to the All-MAC First Team at the MAC Championships. Thornton dominated the 100 backstroke final, winning the race in 54.42. Thornton then took fifth in the 200 back in 1:59.83, but bounced back in the relay events. She gave Miami a strong start as the lead leg of the 400-yard medley relay team. The RedHawks ended up going runner-up in the event with a time of 3:40.01. Thornton was also the starting swimmer for Miami's relay team in the 200-yard medley relay. Going neck and neck with Toledo, the team tied with the Rocket's relay team for first in 1:40.48. Thornton and her relay teams then took third in the 800-yard freestyle relay (7:24.76) and in the 400 free relay (3:23.80).

2010-11: Named Mid-Major Division I All-American Honorable Mention for the second-straight year, All-MAC First Team and All-Mac Academic ... earned NCAA "B" cuts in the 100 and 200 backstrokes ... claimed her first MAC Championships in the 200 medley relay, swimming the leadoff leg, and the 100 backstroke ... also finished second in the 200 backstroke and third as a member of the 400 medley relay team at MAC Championships ... won nine individual events and helped nine relay teams to first-place finishes in the dual meet season ... finished first in the 200 butterfly, 100 backstroke and 200 backstroke and fourth in the 100 butterfly at the Miami Invitational ... swam top times of 54.36 in the 100 backstroke, 1:57.83 in the 200 backstroke, 55.57 in the 100 butterfly and 2:01.24 in the 200 butterfly ... broke the Miami varsity record in both backstroke events and was one of two RedHawks to break the 200 butterfly record in 2010-11, finishing the season with the second-fastest time in that event.

2009-10: Earned All-MAC Second Team honors and CollegeSwimming.com NCAA Division I Mid-Major All-American Honorable Mention recognition ... finished third in the 100-yard backstroke with an NCAA Championship "B" cut time (54.99), seventh in the 200-yard backstroke (2:01.74), 16th in the 200-yard butterfly (2:09.35) and swam on two top-three finishing relay teams at the MAC Championships ... won 12 individual events, tied for second-most on the team ... helped seven relays to first-place finishes ... set a new Miami record in the 100-back (54.99), also breaking the freshman record which was previously set in 1994 by Camilla Johansson ... set a new freshman record in the 200-fly (2:01.90), turning in the second-fastest time in the event in Miami history ... won the 100- and 200-backstrokes and finished second in the 200-fly at the Miami Invitational ... earned straight-A's during the fall semester.

High School: Five-time state champion ... Alabama state record holder in 100 backstroke ... USA Swimming National qualifier ... Scholatic All-American ... NISCA All-American ... enters with top times in 100 backstroke (55.18), 200 backstroke (2:01.96), 100 butterfly (56.18), 200 butterfly (2:03.56), 100 freestyle (52.97), 200 freestyle (1:53.50), 500 freestyle (5:04.04), 1650 freestyle (17:21.95), 200 IM (2:07.33) and 400 IM (4:28.54).
