OXFORD, Ohio -- Miami Baseball will be hosting its inaugural "Talawanda-Miami Day" on Wednesday night, May 9, when it welcomes Cincinnati to McKie Field for the final home game of the 2012 season. This is a partnership with Talawanda schools, and three local elementary schools: Bogan, Kramer and Marshall. All families from Talawanda are invited to attend the game.
Over the past few years, Miami Athletics and the Talawanda School District have worked at building a partnership to provide opportunities for youth in the community. Examples include Women's Basketball hosting its annual "Class at the Court" and Track & Field conducting the "Miami Mile" with Kramer Elementary as well as several student-athletes volunteering their time throughout the year at the schools. Miami Baseball hopes to continue to grow and develop the event in future seasons.
For Wednesday's game, families from Talawanda will also be able to enjoy discounted concessions when they show a flier, which was sent home to each student. Miami Athletics encourages all families to come out and enjoy an evening at the ballpark! Admission is free to baseball games!
