LAKE WORTH, Fla. – The Miami University golf team improved its score by six shots over the first round, shooting a six-over par 290 in the second round of the FAU Spring Break Championship on Saturday. The RedHawks are currently in sixth place at 18-over par. They are only seven shots out of second. UCF, the 39th-ranked team in the country, leads the tournament at three-over par.

Junior Austin Kelly remains in the top-10 individually. He shot a three-over par 74 on Saturday and is now tied for eighth overall at one-over par.

Sophomore Scott Cahill had the best round of the day for Miami. He shot an even-par 71 and is tied for 21st at five-over par. Sophomore Luke Shaughnessy was right behind Cahill with a one-over par 72 and is now tied for 33rd at seven-over par. Senior Brett Tomfohrde shot a two-over par 73 and is tied for 50th at 10-over par, while freshman Bud Radis recorded a 79 and is tied for 57th at 11-over par.

The FAU Spring Break Classic concludes with round three on Sunday.
