As summer comes to an end, America's
most popular sport, football, begins. On Miami's campus, that starts Saturday, Sept. 8,
with the RedHawks hosting Southern Illinois.
For this game, Miami is bringing the White
Out back to its origins. The White Out game is quickly becoming a tradition at Miami and
has received widespread support in each of the last five years. It is one of the many
reasons the fan base has started to gain publicity.
For those that are new to
the "White Out"
games, a stadium full of white shirts can be more intimidating. Despite its capacity of
24,286 spectators, with traditions like the White Out, Yager Stadium has become one of
the more intimidating stadiums in the Mid-American Conference.
This is the kind of energy that Miami
students bring to every game. The stadium buzz figures to be even louder this year and
Miami Athletics encourages you to join fellow students and alumni in white at the home
opener. Help us continue the White Out tradition.
